Plan for today—successfully executed— was to walk stage 10b in both directions. As you might immediately deduce, 10b is a continuation of 10a, about 5 1/2 miles, too much to tack on to 10a about 12.5 miles, at least for me these days, but one way would require a taxi. Both ways + getting to the start and getting back made a respectable outing. Running between Haughmond Abbey and Shrewsbury, it is an easy walk topographically, which translates to close to "flat," but the humidity made it a challenge and I think I am worn out, to boot.
A fair portion was along the Severn:
You have heard of the Red Sea?
Come here and you will see its counterpart.

That is all you can see of it before 10:00 a.m. when you can buy a ticket to enter. For a better view, I started pushing through a field of thick grass adjacent to the walls:
but trees had been planted such that people like me could not get a glimpse without a ticket.
There we a few signs like this:
Worried about buried treasure?
On the way back, I passed some horses. This poor fellow attracts the flies even though his face is all covered up. (What the heck is up with that?)
Back in Shrewsbury, I passed a dart and beer concern:
Nearby, this poster made me wonder what dog friendly live music is like:
I will never find out!
